And the Oscar goes to... BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY!

This year the nominations for Best Original Screenplay are awesome featuring everything from a plot to kill Hitler to a grumpy old man who turns his house into a balloon! This year, the nominees for Best Original Screenplay are:

Mark Boal for THE HURT LOCKER
Quentin Tarantino for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS
Alessandro Camon and Oren Moverman for THE MESSENGER
Joel and Ethan Coen for A SERIOUS MAN
Bob Peterson and Peter Docter for UP

And the Oscar will go to (according to Geoff)…

Nobody can throw out the rulebook with such force and enthusiasm as Quentin Tarantino, yet still make the damn script work! INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS is an amazing mix of intense dialogue, nail-biting suspense and fantasy poured over the historical facts with passion and venom!
