If you haven't heard of The Beautiful South, they're a fantastic British band from the early 90s who put heterosexual bonding to the test with their funny, scathing and comically dark observations of traditional relationships. Their stuff is brilliant, yet as the name suggests, beautiful too. This is one of their best songs, and in a world now debating the rights of gay marriage, this song so beautifully asks the question—what is marriage anyway? Isn't love all that matters? Maybe we shouldn't be fighting against the banning of gay marriage... maybe we should all be fighting to have marriage banned entirely! Who knows :)
